Owl City – Fireflies

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

It’s been a while since the last time I found a singer that makes me this excited. Owl City, consisting of one member, Adam Young first became popular through MySpace and received more than 5 million plays on tracks. Currently Owl City’s album ranks at 11th, but I am expecting it will soon go up higher, and stay in the chart for a while.

Norwegian Recycling

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

When you’re listening to a particular song on the radio or your iPod or whatever, sometimes you might think of another different song.  And next thing, you are thinking you want to make your own playlist.  At least it happens to me.  That is because your brain find some similartilies and common between those songs, and that gives you a  pleasurable moment.

This artist, Norwegian Recycling gives the same kind of pleasure to us. He mash up several different song and ceate one complete song (it’s like a music version of potato salad.)  If you hear it, you will be amazed how those songs collude with each other.  He currently let everyone download these mash up songs from his website, http://norwegianrecycling.multiply.com for free, asking for donation instead of charging.  I post some of his work here ↓. Try and find what songs are in it.

Great Work, Jason Mraz! – We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. (Album)

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Jason Mraz’s new album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Thing succeeded to make him transform from “a” artist to “the” artist. The album has sold over 35,000 copies just in US until now, and it is currenly ranked second in iTune’s most downloaded album. I think after he became 30, he started to be more laid back although his personality hasn’t changed. He’s still a funny, playful, and explicit dude. The album makes me feel like I am on a trip to Caribbean or Hawaii. It shows what kind of person he is, his lifestyle, and what’s great in life to us. Mercifulness. People you care about care about you. That’s my most important element in any form of art. By the way, I worship Sting religiously for the same reason. What’s really great in life? The answer should be already in you. If you still don’t get it, listen to this album. It might help you.

You can listen to the album here ↓  It’s in the order of my favorite though. ;)

Pink Definitely Still Does Rock!! – So What

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I felt so out-of-date and dumb when I found out that everyone else already knows this song and they all love it before I fell in love with this song. Pink has been writing such good songs for the last few years. Her lyrics are so honest and direct. Her songs’ melody is quite catchy also. That brings people’s enthusiasm, and makes people fall in love with her songs. Plus, she also shows her personality alot in her music video too, and makes me laugh when I am watching it. It would be kinda cool to have a grandma like her.

I’m Yours – Jason Mraz

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

For all this time, shamefully, I had thouhgt Jason Mraz was kinda shaky artist. Don’t get me wrong. I knew he was a very talented artist since the very first time I listened to his song, Remedy about half a decade ago. But for all this time, in my perception of him, Jason Mraz was like John Mayer with a skater boy atitude. After I heard this song, I soon became a fan of new Jason Mraz. This type of song is more suitable for him, I think. I hope he keeps this chill attitude (after all, he’s 31 now.)
This is going to be a great summer tune this year as well as Leavin’ by Jesse McCartney. I already listened like a million times, and keep humming when I’m not listening. Very relaxed, and I’m not sure the location that he went on a trip to in this music video, but it looks great. It makes me even more want to go back to Hawaii again… I’m yours!
