For all this time, shamefully, I had thouhgt Jason Mraz was kinda shaky artist. Don’t get me wrong. I knew he was a very talented artist since the very first time I listened to his song, Remedy about half a decade ago. But for all this time, in my perception of him, Jason Mraz was like John Mayer with a skater boy atitude. After I heard this song, I soon became a fan of new Jason Mraz. This type of song is more suitable for him, I think. I hope he keeps this chill attitude (after all, he’s 31 now.)
This is going to be a great summer tune this year as well as Leavin’ by Jesse McCartney. I already listened like a million times, and keep humming when I’m not listening. Very relaxed, and I’m not sure the location that he went on a trip to in this music video, but it looks great. It makes me even more want to go back to Hawaii again… I’m yours!
Personally, I’m not a big fan of Chris Brown, but after I listened to this song, it occurred to me why people including his girlfriend, Rihanna (my favorite!) are so crazy about him. I like the futuristic sound and the fact that Chris Brown is dancing. On top of that, this orange shooting lights. It’s soooo similar to Michael Jackson. Will he be the next Michael Jackson? It seems like nowadays Michael Jackson affects many musicians’ songs including Utada Hikaru. Speaking of an influence of Michael Jackson, did you know that you can hear Michael’s shouting voice in Rihanna’s mega hit song “Don’t Stop Music”? Pooo!
Mariah Carey’s new single “Touch My Body” has been played on my iPod in highly heavy rotation these days. It’s just the song is quite addictive to me. Her whisper voice is very comfortable to listen to. And its mellow-ish melody kinda fits my mood when I am commuting on a bus or train. But when I listen to the song carefully, its lyrics are a bit extreme. “Let me wrap my thighs all around your waist…C’mon and give me what I deserve and touch my body.” I mean…wow. It reminded me of “Girlfriend” by Avril Lavign. They are totally different types of music, but they have something in common: catchy melody and unusual lyrics. These seem to have big impacts on people to remember the song and play it over and over.
Anyway, check out “Touch My Body” before it appears on a billboard.
Recently I find myself listening to this guy’s music alot. DJ Mozlov was born in 1984 (same age with me;)) in Belgium. His music style is usually a mixture of pop and house songs that are carefully picked from his favorites based on a specific theme he holds before he creates the music such as Fading Summer Vibes, which is also one of my favorites. His music is generally categorized into so-called Lounge/Chillout. They are very comfortable to hear, and his choosing pop songs in his mixture makes it much easier for the beginner people to the new-world music like me to start with.
My most favorite one is La Fiesta Par Siempre meaning Party for always. Perhaps.lol But it does not sound like the party that people here in US imagine: night club’s dancing and drinking party. It sounds like a picnic party song, or a song at a party in a nice cozy cafe restaurant on a very sunny weekend or holidays. Fiesta also has a meaning of Holiday in Spanish, btw. As soon as you hear it, you can feel the European people’s cheerfulness and artiness.
Anyway, you can download his music for free from his website↓, so check them out if you’re interested.
